What is a Calcutta ??

 A Calcutta is .

It’s a donation auction of the teams entered in an event. In this case the ranch rodeo teams, bronc riders, bull riders, and barrel racers will be auctioned off at a live auction at The Wrangler Bar on Friday September 12, 2008.

The buyers of winning ranch hand teams will share in a pay out of 80% of all the total bids for the ranch rodeo teams paid to three places. Same for the buyers of the winning barrel racers, bull riders, and bronc riders. Twenty percent of all bids go to the charities.

So, come “buy” on Friday, meet the contestants, and bid on your favorites.
