The Rodeo will benefit two local non-profit Sacramento groups who will also be on hand at the rodeo:

Sacramento County Sheriff's Search and Rescue
Sacramento County Sheriff's Posse

Cosumnes River Invitational Ranch Rodeo

The Cosumnes River Invitational Ranch Rodeo is a community event designed to benefit the Cosumnes River Basin.  Four man rodeo teams will test their skills at team sorting, team roping, ranch doctoring, calf roping, calf branding, and a mock cattle rustling in an attempt to win prize monies and the coveted cowboy belt buckle.  There will also be events for other contestants such as barrel racing, Women's steer stopping, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, dummy roping, and stick horse races.  The rodeo will be a great family and community event and will be exciting to watch.

Sacramento County Sheriff Search and Rescue
SAR is a citizen volunteer group whose main function is to assist the Sheriff with qualified search and rescue volunteers to assist in locating, rescuing and recovering lost people. They currently have horse searchers, foot searchers, cadaver dogs and search dogs.

 

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Posse
The Posse is a group of citizen volunteers who represents the Sheriff’s Department at local parades and community functions.  The Posse, known for riding palomino horses, also performs precision drill maneuvers at community events and drill team competitions.

 

The Second Annual Cosumnes River Invitational Ranch Rodeo will be a community event that will be talked about for years to come.  Mark September 13th and 14th on your calendars and please plan to attend and support this worth while community event.
